Casual Sailing & Pursuit Racing....

We’re now back on the water, but only with 3 hour Members Only Casual Sailing timeslots from 11am to 4pm on Sundays, and 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Wednesdays. We are holding two 45 minute Pursuit Race at 1.30pm and 3pm on Sundays, and one at 7.00pm on Wednesdays from August. All sessions will be restricted to 15 boats on the water at any one time to maintain our safety boat ratio for our rescue boat. Please book your timeslot on the COVID-19 section of the website and your tandem volunteering session. Unfortunately we can’t accommodate visitors at this time, and all Discover Sailing sessions and RYA Training Courses have had to be suspended.

About our Club

We are located at Kings Mill Reservoir just off the A38 - A617 Junction between Mansfield and Sutton In Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Kings Mill Reservoir, which is also a nature reserve, is an excellent small sailing water with nine marks allowing for a variety of courses for all conditions.

COVID-19 Restrictions

Whilst the current Coronavirus is still a potent threat to life, even though relaxations are now in place enough to allow resumption of Casual Sailing, we have to restrict activities in according with our Risk Assessments, which can be viewed by clicking the COVID-19 header above

RYA Training Centre

Learn to sail courses are normally run throughout the year and new members are always welcome. Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, all courses for 2020 are currently suspended.

Club Facilities

The club has a clubhouse with kitchen, bar, wood burning fire & toilets. There is a separate changing room block with male & female toilets and shower room facilities.

Discover Sailing Sessions

Our normal sailing programme includes regular sessions for newbies who’ve never sailed before to try sailing, by crewing a double handed boat with an experienced club member. From there, there is the opportunity to get trained and qualified to sail through our RYA Accredited Training Courses. We unfortunately have had to suspend these sessions currently due to COVID-19 Restrictions.
